Wild Coast Warriors was broadcast on Carte Blanche on DSTV Channel on the 14th July 2024. Wild Coast Warriors will air on VPRO's TV channel NPO2Extra in the Netherlands on Friday, 7th February! WCW will also air on Betevé TV in Barcelona, on the 5th of February! RTVE Documentos TV, also in Spain, broadcasts WCW on the 13th of February!

Wild Coast Warriors wins Best Documentary Feature for the November 2024 session at the International Guadelejara Film Awards in Mexico. Wild Coast Warriors, has also been awarded the Best Feature Documentary award at the Hill Film Festival in Bangladesh.

OBP Heroes of the Year: Activists who risk their lives to protect beloved land and community

For nearly 20 years, Sinegugu Zukulu and Nonhle Mbuthuma have been standing on that front line in the Pondoland section of the Eastern Cape Wild Coast, speaking up and out against a range of "development" plans that they believe will bring harm to their land, culture and natural heritage.

This film had its World Premiere at the 26th Encounters International Documentary Film Festival and the first two screenings were sold out. It was nominated "Best of the Fest." Wild Coast Warriors was selected as the Best Feature in the Environmental & Cultural category at the Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival 2024. It has also been awarded the Best Feature Documentary award at the Hill Film Festival in Bangladesh. WCW has been judged an Award Winner (Best Documentary Feature, November season) at the International Guadalajara Film Awards in Mexico and nominated for the Best Feature Doc at Madrid Indie Film Festival Awards in Spain. It has been selected as a winner of the IMDb qualifying seasonal competition of Montreal Independent Film Festival, as the Best Environmental Film, and was given an Outstanding Achievement Award Winner at the Sunbardan International Film Festival in West Bengal, India. It was given an honorable mention at the Lookout Wild Film Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. It has also been officially selected at the Africa International Human Rights Festival in Nigeria, the Lulea International Film Festival in Sweden, the British Columbia Environmental Film Festival in Vancouver, Canada, and the Africa Film Festival in Kenya. Wild Coast Warriors has been selected for the Social Justice Film Festival in Seattle, USA and at the Dokumentale International Documentary and Media Festival in Berlin, Germany.
